Peter Stacey

My name is Peter Stacey.  I am a Member Director of MTT and was nominated by Mountain Training England.  I currently sit on the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee. I was previously a Director of MTT from May 2009 through to June 2014.  Prior to retirement, I was employed as the CEO of the British Activity Providers Association, a post I held from 2011 through to 2022.  My other professional roles have been as an Area Manager for Fostering and Residential Child Care services for a large Local Authority and as a Mountaineering & Climbing Instructor.

I have been volunteering for over 30 years, as an access volunteer for the British Mountaineering Council, as Hon Secretary and Chair of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors, as Chair and Vice-Chair for Mountain Training United Kingdom & Ireland. I have sat on the Adventure Activities Industry Advisory Committee.  My interest in MTT relates to the longstanding relationship between MTT and MTE, and also having spent many days on courses at Plas Y Brenin, I aim to try and put something back into the Trust and the centre.
